Let’s celebrate your little miracle with a day created just for them, a chance to honour their arrival, recognise their special place in your family, and officially welcome them to the world.
A baby naming or blessing ceremony is a meaningful and fun way to celebrate not only your beautiful child, but also you as parents and the amazing gift of new life.
In New Zealand, a naming ceremony is a joyful, non-religious celebration where a child is formally introduced to family and friends. It’s a meaningful way to welcome your child into the community, express your hopes for their future, and mark this precious moment in your family’s story.

Initial Meeting
An initial, obligation-free meeting to listen to your ideas and discuss how we can create a meaningful and unique ceremony together. During this meeting, we’ll also go through the process of writing your ceremony.
Resources
Access to my curated resources including poems, readings, invite designs, ritual ideas, and music suggestions.
Planning Session
A second meeting to discuss the first draft of your ceremony. Shortly after, I’ll email you the full draft for your review. I’m also happy to take on a planning role and assist with organising the day itself, helping with timelines, invites, vendors, setup or any practical details to ensure your ceremony runs smoothly.
Beautiful Collabortations
I also collaborate with some incredibly talented creatives from event stylists who design beautiful settings for those picture-perfect moments, to cake makers, invitation and stationery designers, and other wonderful vendors who bring an extra touch of magic to your celebration.
Naming Ceremony
I’ll arrive around 45 minutes before the ceremony to run through things and create a relaxed and stress-free atmosphere for you and your family. Together, we’ll celebrate your child with a beautifully tailored ceremony that honours their name, their story, and the love that surrounds them.
Each ceremony is completely tailored to your wishes. I can make it simple and intimate, or more elaborate with special elements such as symbolic acts (like a sand ceremony or planting a tree), promises to the child, and participation from family members.
While there are no legal requirements for a naming ceremony itself, parents must register the birth with the Births, Deaths and Marriages in accordance with New Zealand law. Naming ceremonies can be held at any age though they are often celebrated in the early months or around a baby’s first birthday.
My role is to craft a heartfelt celebration that you and your loved ones will treasure forever, not just a ceremony, but the beginning of a lifetime of cherished memories.
